A blockchain-based virtual world called Decentraland enables both individuals and organisations to produce, consume, and monetize their own content.

In Decentraland, users can build and sell their own virtual assets, such as real estate and digital artwork, and engage in a variety of in-world activities, such as gaming and socialising.

The Mall of the Metaverse by Majid Al Futtaim will have virtual locations of Carrefour, That Concept Store, Ghawali, and Samsung stores in addition to a VOX virtual reality theatre.

There are ongoing plans for additional brands to enter the virtual reality metaverse.

Majid Al Futtaim Asset Management’s CEO, Khalifa Bin Braik, stated: “For us at Majid Al Futtaim, it is crucial to keep an eye on user and shopper behaviours and how they change over time. Every day, we want to discover new opportunities for producing unforgettable moments, and we’re prepared to do it even on a massive network of platforms like the metaverse.

“Our Mall of the Metaverse will be another another of our top shopping and leisure locations, and it will undoubtedly be a major draw for consumers who yearn for digital experiences from their favourite brands.”
